Thank you, Joan, for putting my exact sentiments into words. I am working on a project with a friend who, though she is creative, intuitive, and a fantastic story TELLER, is not a WRITER. Therefore, she doesn't understand what it means to me to write, and I'm sure thinks I'm obsessive about it. Due to our children's summers off, vacations, etc., we don't work on the manuscript during the summer and I feel like I've been locked in a cage the last 3 months. I cannot wait to be released to my laptop where "my soul sings." BTW, I'm curious if writing is the "second best" feeling in the world...what is the first :-)

Glad my blog resonated with you. Re my "second best feeling" remark, modesty prevents me from being more explicit...but perhaps you can fill in the blank with whatever YOU regard as the best feeling. And honestly, sometimes writing is it. Thanks for your comment.
